P103DESCRIPTION
OGET P103 is an extruded electrode whose deposit is principally nickel, designed to produce machinable welds in cast iron using either AC or DC. It guarantees a weld free from cracks and porosity that exhibits tensile strength and ductility adequate for cast iron. The deposit color is close to that of cast iron.
APPLICATIONS
The principal field of application for P103 is in the repair of cast iron parts where machinability of deposit is required.
P104DESCRIPTION
The OGET P104 is an extrusion-coated electrode. It will produce machinable welds in cast iron using either AC or DC. The low hardness of the nickel deposit eliminates the hard zones in cast iron welds made by mild steel cast iron repair electrodes. Welds are free from cracks and porosity. And the deposit color is close to that of cast iron.
APPLICATIONS
The OGET P104 is ideal for repair welding thick sections of different types of cast iron and ductile iron to each other. It can also be used to weld high-phosphorus castings and to join thin sections of ordinary gray irons to themselves, or to other ferrous and nonferrous materials. Preheating or postheating are not required on most applications where the weld area is not subjected to high stress. Short, intermittent beads should be used. In some cases, peening with a ball point tool may be necessary to relieve stress.
